1 Overview
Grately is a personal journaling app for gratitude entries and lightweight emotional reflection. Users can record three gratitude prompts, free-form notes, a daily mood, and an optional emoji for each date, then review their history through calendar, timeline, stats, reminder, theme, app icon, and app lock features. Grately does not require account registration and does not provide a developer-operated account system or cloud sync server. Most journal content created by users is stored locally on the user's device.
2 Information Processed
Depending on the features you choose to use, Grately may process the following information on your device: Journal data such as the three gratitude fields for each date, free-form notes, mood value, selected emoji, and entry timestamp App settings such as language, theme, selected app icon, reminder status and time, and free-trial or premium access state If you enable app lock, the app may store lock status, a locally stored passcode hash, and related settings on your device This information is processed primarily on-device, and the developer does not directly collect it into a separate remote database.
3 Reminders, App Lock, and Device Features
Grately may request notification permission in order to provide daily reminder functionality. If you enable reminders, local notifications may be scheduled at the time you choose. If you use app lock, the service may invoke operating system authentication features such as Face ID, Touch ID, biometrics, or device credentials where supported. The developer does not directly collect or store your raw biometric information, and authentication is handled through the security features provided by your operating system.
4 Advertising and Payments
The free version of Grately may display advertisements in certain areas, such as on the home screen or within the save flow after an entry is written. Third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob may be used for this purpose, and those providers may process device information, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, and app interaction data under their own policies. The service may offer premium features or free-trial access for items such as ad removal, stats, extra themes, custom app icons, and app lock. Billing, payment processing, and purchase restoration for in-app purchases are handled through platform providers such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Billing.
5 Third-Party Services
Grately may use the following third-party services or platform features: Google AdMob (advertising) Apple App Store / Google Play Billing (payments and purchase restoration) Local notification services provided by the operating system Device authentication or biometric features provided by the operating system Platform review-prompt features These providers may process information independently under their own privacy policies, and the developer does not directly control those processing activities.
6 Data Storage
Most app data, including journal entries, mood information, emoji selections, and settings, is stored locally on the user's device. thenovary does not currently provide a developer-operated cloud backup or sync server for Grately entries. As a result, if you delete the app or change devices, some or all locally stored data may not be recoverable.
7 Data Sharing

However, relevant information may be processed by third-party providers to the extent necessary for advertising, billing, local notifications, device authentication, and platform feature support. The developer does not transmit the substance of your gratitude entries to a separate developer-managed server for sale or public disclosure.
