1 Overview
DeepRead is a reading log and book journal app. Users can search for books, add them manually or via barcode scan, track reading progress, write notes and reviews, save passages, view reading statistics, customize themes and language settings, back up and restore data, and access paid features. DeepRead does not require account registration, and most content created by users is stored locally on their device.
2 Information Processed
Depending on the features you choose to use, DeepRead may process the following information on your device: Library data including book titles, authors, cover images, ISBNs, reading status, progress, ratings, tags, notes, passages, reviews, and reading history Profile data including nickname, profile image, and app appearance settings Reading statistics and app settings such as language, theme, color preferences, and purchase status Backup files exported or imported by the user Recent search terms and cached search results to improve in-app search performance
3 Camera, Photos, and File Access
DeepRead may request access to your camera, photo library, or file system only when necessary to provide features you have requested, such as scanning book barcodes, selecting cover or profile images, saving share cards to your gallery, or exporting and restoring backup files. Content selected or generated through these permissions is generally stored locally on your device unless you choose to share or export it.
4 Book Search and External Data
When you search for books, DeepRead may transmit your search queries to third-party book data providers such as Google Books and Aladin in order to return search results and book metadata. These providers may process your search queries, network information, and technical request data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
5 Advertising and Payments
DeepRead may display advertisements in certain areas of the app through Google AdMob. The advertising provider may automatically process device information, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, and app interaction data in accordance with its own privacy policy. In-app purchases are processed and restored through Apple App Store or Google Play Billing. DeepRead may store your purchase status locally on your device to maintain access to unlocked paid features.
6 Data Storage
Most app data is stored locally on your device. thenovary does not operate a cloud account system or developer-managed sync server for your reading content. If you choose to export a backup, the backup file is saved to a location of your choosing.
7 Data Sharing
thenovary does not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by third-party providers only to the extent necessary to provide search, advertising, in-app purchases, device media access, file access, and sharing features.
8 Data Retention
Since most data in DeepRead is stored locally, you are in direct control of retention. You can modify or delete content within the app, delete any exported backup files, or uninstall the app at any time.
9 Children's Privacy
DeepRead is not directed at children under the age of 13, and thenovary does not knowingly collect personal information from children through any developer-operated account system.
10 Security
DeepRead relies on your device's local storage and the security protections provided by your operating system. While we make reasonable efforts to support the secure use of the app, no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11 Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated in response to changes in features, legal requirements, or third-party services. Any revisions will be posted on this page along with the updated effective date.
