1 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using DeepRead, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree to the Terms, you may not use the service.

2 Service Overview

DeepRead is an app designed to help you manage your personal library and track your reading. It provides features including book search, manual and barcode registration, reading progress and session tracking, note-taking, passage saving, review writing, statistics and report viewing, theme and language customization, image saving and sharing, backup and restore, and optional paid features. DeepRead currently does not require a separate account registration, and most content created by users is stored locally on their device.

3 License to Use the App

The operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use DeepRead on devices you lawfully own or control, solely for personal and non-commercial purposes.

4 User Content and Local Storage

You are responsible for any content you create, register, restore, import, export, or share through DeepRead, including book information, notes, passages, reviews, profile information, images, and backup files. Because most service data is stored locally, you bear sole responsibility for device security, data migration, backup file management, and reviewing content before sharing it externally. The operator currently does not provide a developer-managed cloud sync service for reading content.

5 Prohibited Activities

You may not interfere with the normal operation of the service, attempt unauthorized access, circumvent paid features or ad-based flows, reverse engineer the app beyond what is permitted by applicable law, infringe on the rights of others, or engage in any conduct that violates applicable laws or public order and morals.

6 Third-Party Services and External Data

DeepRead may use third-party services or data, including Google Books, Aladin, Google AdMob, Apple App Store, and Google Play Billing. Book search results, metadata, advertisements, and payment and restore functionality may be affected by the policies and operational status of the respective providers. The operator makes no warranties and accepts no liability regarding the accuracy, completeness, currency, or continued availability of book information (including search results, images, and details) provided by third-party services.

7 Paid Features, Support Purchases, and Refunds

DeepRead may offer optional paid features such as ad removal, color palette unlocks, premium packages, and support purchases. The specific scope and pricing of paid features are governed by the in-app information available at the time of purchase. Payment, billing, purchase restoration, cancellation, and refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law and the policies of the relevant app marketplace or platform operator. Minors must obtain consent from their legal guardian before using paid features. Support purchases are voluntary consumable payments intended to support the developer and do not create any obligation to provide physical goods or individualized services.

8 Advertising and Ad-Based Features

The free version of DeepRead may include advertisements in formats such as banner, native, interstitial, and rewarded ads. Certain free features, particularly some image sharing or generation features, may be made available after watching an ad. The types and display methods of advertisements are subject to change.

9 Backup, Sharing, and Export

DeepRead may provide features for exporting backup files, generating image cards or reports, and saving or sharing them. You are responsible for reviewing exported content before sharing it externally, and for storing and managing your backup files. Whether a backup file can be successfully restored may vary depending on the app version, device environment, and the condition of the file.

10 Intellectual Property

DeepRead and all associated designs, compositions, software, and operational rights belong to the operator or the respective rights holders, except for user content and third-party materials subject to separate licenses. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of the service to you.

11 Licenses and Notices

Third-party open-source licenses and notices used in DeepRead and other thenovary apps can be found on the Licenses page.

12 Service Modifications and Discontinuation

The operator may modify, add, restrict, or discontinue all or part of DeepRead's features, design, supported platforms, paid feature lineup, or advertising configuration as necessary for service operation, quality improvement, security, or legal compliance.

13 Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

DeepRead is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by applicable law. The operator does not warrant that the service will always be available without interruption or entirely free of errors. The operator shall not be liable for damages arising from errors by third-party data providers, changes to app marketplace policies, device failures, operating system limitations, or loss of locally stored data, except where caused by the operator's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

14 Termination of Use

You may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the app. The operator may restrict or terminate all or part of the service as necessary to protect the service, respond to security risks, comply with applicable law, or prevent misuse.

15 Changes to These Terms

The operator may revise these Terms in response to changes in the service or applicable law. In the event of material changes, the revised Terms and their effective date will be posted on this page.

16 Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Where mandatory consumer protection provisions or regulations applicable to app marketplace transactions exist, such provisions shall also apply, and disputes shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
